Decks are a popular, attractive addition to many homes and gardens in NZ and provide an extra space for outdoor entertaining.
Often, decking can become slippery when wet and slip injuries are a common occurrence. In NZ the building code NZS3604 calls for a slip resistant access route, many different options to provide slip-resistance have been unsuccessfully trialed or only provide temporary compliance before they wear out or fall off.
When using KeyDeck, Kwila or Vitex for your new deck build, GripLine™ seamlessly matches the rest of your deck & can be used in the critical “access route” pathways to the front door as well as steps and ramps – wherever a non-slip surface is desirable or required to meeting building code.

GRIPLINE™ has been independently tested and verified by WSP New Zealand Limited and has been tested in accordance with AS 4586:2013 Slip Resistance Classification of new pedestrian surface materials. Appendix A Wet Pendulum Test Method (A6 for laboratory testing)
GripLine™ is a sturdy 10-12mm wide aluminium-oxide coated insert manufactured in a ‘T’ profile for rigidity and strength. The grip strip inserts are rebated into and chemically bonded to the decking timber. GripLine™ provides certified slip resistance no matter the direction of foot traffic!

Your decking comes with two GripLine™ inserts pre-installed into the timber. The strips are positioned optimally to allow for your screw fixing in the correct position without penetrating the strip insert. Unlike some ‘stick-on’ grip products our strong, robust and rigid grip inserts are rebated into the timber ensuring long-lasting durability and, of course, safety. Available in ‘Granite’ or ‘Luminous’ options.
