Profile

Superior smooth face with grooved back face.
Smooth face is best grade, grip side can contain defects.

Key Deck has a consistent straight grain due to its quarter sawing technique. Growth rings in wood boards act like expanders with cracking usually occurring vertical to the rings. The straight grain minimises cracking, splintering and is more dimensionally stable.

Key Deck is coated using a patented infusion coating process which enables a blend of protective oils and colour pigments to be infused into the wood far exceeding that achievable by traditional brush or spray systems.

Wood and decking in particular performs best when the surface is protected and the wood can keep its natural elasticity especially during the first periods of weathering which is why the infused factory coating is so important. The coating is designed to weather consistently over time to maximise the benefits while avoiding issues with traditional paint or stain film failure. The coating can be easily reapplied or left to weather off the surface whilst still retaining the benefits of deeper oil penetration.

TRUSTED PERFORMANCE

Key Deck uses leading edge treatment technology developed by Kanematsu Sustech Corporation to provide protection against the elements and insect attack. With over 100 years of trading history and huge investments in wood and building technology, Kanematsu Sustech provides the security of knowing that Key Deck is at the forefront of wood preservation technology. The specific treatment used is “Nissan Clean CI” which is certified by Japan Industrial Standards (JIS), Japan Wood Preserving Association and the Japan Housing and Wood Technology Center.

ABOUT NISSAN CLEAN CI
  1. Drying after the preservation treatment is not required. Since water is not used at all in processing, there is absolutely no need to dry the wood artificially following treatment.
  2. Processed products can be treated. Immediately after the treatment, dimensional changes are not more than 1% (measurement value of our company).
  3. Assembly, adhesion and painting are possible without machining after the treatment is completed.
  4. It is a colorless and non-polluting chemical that is very safe.
  5. Highly efficient with complete wood penetration. There is practically no processing loss since drying after treatment is not necessary, and dimensional changes are also few. Nissan Clean’s unique process ensure full penetration and protection of the wood.
